City of Romance
Yes, I'm talking about Verona an easygoing city in the North of Italy. Made famous by Shakespeare which made of this town a household name. Many people visit this city just to stand in a courtyard, the House of Juliet, and it's quite funny to see hundreds of tourists standing in line to rub Juliet's bronze breast, hoping to get lucky in love. Of course the House of Juliet is a mandatory stop, but Verona is much more! Despite the romantic fiction and the attractions for tourists, the city is full of energy and lovely spots to visit. Starting from the amphitheater, going down from Corso Porta Borsari, Piazza delle Erbe arriving to the riverside. During our stay in Verona we had to stop in Venchi, Katya's favourite chocolaterie for some delicious sweets to enjoy while doing our passeggiata (stroll) in the wide streets of the center. As per rule, we visited Juliet's house to touch the lucky charm and rested on the walls nearby the river where it was less crowded. There we enjoyed the beautiful weather and a long chat while Andrè Leon was trying to escape from us. I don't know if all of the love was related to the Romeo and Juliet hype — or if it was just the natural high that came from living in such a joyful and connected place.
